Lori Fiessinger, MD
BOARD CERTIFIED DERMATOLOGIST
Dr. Fiessinger grew up in Ohio where she also completed both her undergraduate studies (The Ohio State University – Go Bucks!) and then her medical education (Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic). During medical school, she found that she enjoyed the visual aspect of dermatology along with the great variety of conditions treated.
During dermatology residency, Dr. Fiessinger developed a fascination with using technology to improve patient outcomes. She gained expertise in using dermoscopy (a handheld device that allows you to magnify skin lesions and see features that you cannot see with your eyes alone) to aid in diagnosis of skin cancers. After graduation, Dr. Fiessinger practiced general dermatology and also established a new pigmented lesions clinic at the University of Minnesota which specialized in seeing patients with either history of melanoma or patients at an elevated risk of developing melanoma. She worked closely with medical and surgical oncology in managing patients with advanced stage melanoma as well.
While working for the University of Minnesota, Dr. Fiessinger also found that she greatly enjoyed teaching. She served as faculty in training the dermatology residents on cosmetic procedures. She provided a number of lectures to residents and medical students on how to use dermoscopy to better detect skin cancers and improve patient outcomes. She became so passionate about teaching from this experience that she developed an educational dermoscopy Instagram profile to be able to provide this education throughout the world.
Since fleeing the cold of the Midwest and moving to Florida in 2022, Dr. Fiessinger has continued practicing general dermatology and cosmetic dermatology. She sees patients at the Boca Raton location currently. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running, traveling, and practicing her photography skills.
